Embedded firmware development
Firmware written against the board we built, by the team that built it. Bring-up, bootloaders and application code developed on real hardware rather than an evaluation kit, so the first working unit is the one you ordered.
What we do
- Board bring-up on first articles, alongside the assembly line that built them
- Bootloaders and field-update paths
- Bare-metal and RTOS application firmware
- Peripheral, sensor and interface integration
- Low-level debug of hardware and firmware as one problem, not two
- Firmware loaded and verified on the line at build
The detail
- Scope
- Bring-up · bootloaders · application firmware · field update
- Approach
- Bare-metal or RTOS, on the microcontroller your design specifies
- Developed on
- The assembled board, not an evaluation kit
- Debug
- Hardware and firmware investigated by one team, in one place
- Production
- Firmware loaded and verified on the line, unit by unit
- Compliance
- ISO 9001 quality system · traceability from goods-in to despatch
The board and the code stop being separate problems
When the firmware and the assembly come from different suppliers, every awkward fault becomes an argument about whose problem it is, and the programme stops while that argument runs. Here the same team owns both, on one site, with one traceable record. A joint that looks fine and a register that reads wrong get investigated together, which is usually the only way that class of fault gets found at all.
And whatever else the product needs
Firmware is where most hardware programmes start with us, and it is rarely all they need. The same team also builds mobile and desktop applications, data pipelines, analytics and system integrations, machine vision and signal processing, and internal tooling and automation. If what you need is not listed here, ask: the constraint is usually the hardware, not the software.
Tell us what you're building.
You'll get honest engineering input and a clear route to production. Your design and IP stay confidential, and we'll put an NDA in place before you share anything. We reply within one working day.
